A good post planner should remove work rather than move it from one spreadsheet to another. If the team still manually copies nine versions of every post after connecting the tool, very little has actually been automated.
One calendar matters more than a long feature list
First check whether all project publications can be seen in one calendar, including free slots, overdue work and overloaded days.
One master post is better than nine copies
Content should have one shared source version. Create a network-specific adaptation only when length, structure, hashtags or media genuinely need to change.
Approval should stay next to the post
Comments, revisions and the client's decision are most useful when they are tied to the current version of a specific post. Otherwise an outdated draft can easily be mistaken for the approved one.
Track each destination separately
One post can publish successfully to Telegram and fail on another network. A planner should not hide that behind one generic green status.
Analytics should respect data availability
Different networks expose different metrics. A useful service shows the measurements that are actually available instead of turning unavailable data into artificial zeroes.
See how these principles work in the SMM Posting post planner.
